Prayer Wherry

Peg your prayer to the wherry in church

or leave your prayer as a comment

In the past, local industry relied on wherries to transport goods up and down the river – malt, beer and agricultural lime in one direction, raw materials like coal the other way. Counter balanced masts would be dropped,  to pass through low bridges.

They could go where others could not!

Today, our Prayer Wherry acts as a go between carrying our deep felt hopes, fears and thanksgiving prayers to the throne of grace.

Please be sure to preserve confidentiality by not using people’s names.

God knows who you mean!

e.g. “My mother/friend, who is in hospital.”  rather than, “Mrs.So and So who is…. “
